    The Mission

Founded in 2017, St. Paisios Orthodox Mission is a thriving community of the Orthodox Church in America, Diocese of the South. As the sole Eastern Orthodox parish in Deep East Texas, the mission serves as a center of worship, fellowship, and formation for the faithful and those seeking the fullness of the Orthodox Christian faith. Our growing community is dedicated to living the life of the Church through the Divine Liturgy, the rhythm of the feasts, and a spirit of love and hospitality. All are warmly invited to join us in prayer and in the life of Christ’s Church in Deep East Texas.

    The Eastern Orthodox Church

The Eastern Orthodox Church is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. Founded by the Apostles at Pentecost (Acts 2:1–11), She has preserved the unbroken continuity of faith, worship, and life in the Holy Trinity for two millennia. Through the sacraments, the Scriptures, and the living Tradition of the Church, the Orthodox faith offers the fullness of life in Christ—uniting heaven and earth, past and present, and all who seek communion with the living God.

    Our Patron Saint

St. Paisios the Athonite (1924 – 1994) is among the most beloved and venerated monastic elders of the modern Orthodox Church. Living a life of profound humility, prayer, and spiritual discernment on the Holy Mountain of Athos, he became a source of healing, counsel, and consolation to countless people who sought his guidance. Canonized by the Ecumenical Patriarchate in 2015, St. Paisios stands as a radiant example of holiness in our time—a reminder that the grace of God continues to renew the world through lives of repentance and love.

Venerable Father of the Holy Mountain, pray to God for us!

    Visiting the Mission

St. Paisios Orthodox Mission is a growing Orthodox Christian community, welcoming both those new to the faith and those already familiar with the life of the Church. Our parish family includes people of all ages and backgrounds who are united in a shared desire to live the Gospel through worship, fellowship, and service.

Following the Divine Liturgy each Sunday, we gather for a communal potluck meal, where everyone—members and guests alike—is invited to share food and fellowship.

All services are conducted in English, and seating is available for those who need to sit during worship.

Out of reverence for the sacredness of the Church and the presence of the Holy Mysteries, visitors are asked to dress modestly when attending services:

    +Please avoid shorts or mini-skirts.

+Please avoid halter tops or strapless attire.

+Please avoid clothing that is tight or form-fitting.

All are warmly invited to come and experience the beauty and peace of Orthodox worship at St. Paisios Mission.
