The Mission
Founded in 2017 and reactivated in 2022, St. Paisios Orthodox Mission is an outreach ministry of the OCA-Diocese of the South. Presently, the mission is the only Eastern Orthodox presence in Deep East Texas. All Orthodox Christians, as well as anyone interested in inquiring about the Orthodox Faith, are invited to visit and join the growing mission's worship and communal life.
The Eastern Orthodox Church
The Eastern Orthodox Church is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. Founded by the Apostles at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-11) and maintaining unchanged faith in the Holy Trinity for 2,000 years, the Orthodox Church uniquely offers the fullness of life in Christ.
Our Patron Saint
St. Paisios the Athonite (1924 - 1994) is one of the most venerated 20th century monastic elders of the Orthodox Church. Canonized in 2015, St. Paisios is a beacon of faith and an overflowing vessel of grace for the modern world. Venerable father of the Holy Mountain, pray to God for us!
Our Community
St. Paisios Mission is a growing, convert-focused Orthodox community. First-timers to an Orthodox church and children of all ages are always welcomed guests. A potluck communal meal is offered after Divine Liturgy each Sunday for all to partake and enjoy fellowship time together.
All services at St. Paisios are conducted in English and seating is offered for those needing to sit during the services.
