    Our Plans

    While it is the mission's long-term vision to construct a permanent and authentic Orthodox temple on the land now owned, in the near-term the mission plans to build a multi-purpose center to house and serve our growing community and take full advantage of the mission's beautiful 14 acres.

    Making it Happen

    With gratitude to God, the mission has completed all approvals for the construction of its new 5,100-square-foot church facility. The mission community voted to recommend the project in July 2025, followed by diocesan and episcopal approval in August, and loan approval in October 2025.

    Construction Phase

    Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2026, marking a major step forward in the life of the mission and the continued growth of Orthodox Christianity in Deep East Texas.

    Construction Update as of March 20, 2026


    The structural building plans are now complete. Final pricing for the steel building shell—including the driveway, foundation, building, windows, and doors—is expected to be ready next week.. April will be dedicated to closing the construction loan, with the goal of beginning construction in May.
